LOWaste is a European LIFE project which aims to the prevent and reduce urban waste through the development of a local market of recycled and reused materials.

The project leverages on green public procurement and on the promotion to companies, local authorities and consumers of the possibility to reuse and to buy recycled products.

The project parnters are the Municipality of Ferrara (project leader), Impronta Etica, Gruppo Hera, the social cooperative La Città Verde, and Rreuse Europen Network (Reuse and Recycling European Union Social Enterprises).

The project started in September 2011 and it lasted 3 years (until June 2014).
